Optimizing Your Performance

Math is often taxing on the brain, so be kind to your mind and boost your mental capacity by following these simple tricks:

1. Drink Water
You've heard it a thousand times, but even 2% dehydration decreases memory and ability to focus. By the time you feel thirsty, your mental capacity can drop by 10%! So change that C on your report card to a B by reaching for a glass of water!

2. Eat a Healthy Snack
Brain cells require two times as much energy as other cells in your body, so give them the fuel they need. Afterall, a hungry body is a stressed, distracted body and just the process of eating well makes us feel calmer and satisfied.

3. Calm the Anxiety
Math can be scary and seriously stressful, but a stressed and fearful brain can't think. Stop "hating math" and try to make the experience as positive as possible - trust me, it will get easier with time. Try to remember times when you've felt successful with math and congratulate/reward yourself for successes while minimizing mistakes.

At Math Wizardry we try to promote these thought provoking habits. We do what we can to keep you hydrated, ameliorate your worries, and rejoice in your triumphs. Remember - MATH IS FUN!
